Prefers sandy bottom sea bed and is often found in shallower water, although relatively rare to catch from the shore. |

Mackeral Strip, Ragworm, Lugworm, and Peeler crab are all great baits. |
||||
This is one of the largest of the gurnard, although the flying gurnard is larger. |
||||
Commonly reddish in colour, and similar to all the Gurnard, it has very large pectoral fins. |
