You must have a broadband connection:
You will only be able to view our programmes if you have a high speed broadband internet connection. If you do not have this connection the videos will not be able to play. We recommend that if your primary interest in becoming a member is to view the programming on this site you do not make a credit card payment if you do not have broadband equal to or greater than 500Kb/s.
If you do not know if you have broadband, call your Internet Service Provider to check.
Microsoft Media Player
You will also need Windows Media Player. If you do not have Window's Media Player download the latest version for free from the offical Microsoft Download Website.
Internet Browser
Because we are streaming videos through the windows media player format we recommend that you use Internet Explorer as your browser as some of the other browsers experience difficulties when the videos are streamed.
Screen Size
We recommend that your browser is set so that the video screen appears in a separate pop up box.
If your Microsoft Media Player and Browser is set so that all media downloaded appears in a band on the left hand side of the browser, then either change the Browser settings or remember that when you are receiving a video you can change the screen size by clicking on the tiny white arrows in the bottom right hand corner of the Media Player consul.
Download Speeds
We are currently streaming videos at 300kb/s as this is the recommended industry standard. This will produce a recommended screen size for your video of 320 * 240. The actual size of the video on your screen will depend on your screen resolution.
Some of the videos are "streamed" and some are "downlaoded" if you see a significant difference in quality between videos then this may have to do with the way your browser is set up to manage streaming and/or downloading or it may be that your internet connection is heavily loaded.
Active X Controls and Cookies
Steaming media to your computer requires Active X Controls to be enabled and for your computer to allow session cookies. These are browser settings which are set on your computer and beyond the control of this website. In general you will be asked to allow Active X controls when you first enter the site and if you acept them then you will not have an issue with these controls for the rest of your visit.
We invite you to take the tour and view our demonstration video at no cost to view the quality of our programmes and to check your system requirements.
If your system fails to receive the demonstration then the chances are you do not have broadband or your system browser is set up to restrict session cookies and Active X controls.
